Alfred R. Berkeley, III
Mr. Berkeley is the NASDAQs vice chairman of the board of directors, and served as president from 1996 to 2000. As a member of NASDAQ's senior management group, he guided the NASDAQ stock market into the largest stock market exchange in the United States, and one of the largest real-time communications infrastructure deployments in history. He also provided the leadership in the NASDAQ's expansion into international markets in Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining NASDAQ, Mr. Berkeley was a managing director and senior banker in the corporate finance department of Alex. Brown & Sons Inc., which he joined in 1972. Mr. Berkeley has also served on the board of directors of Cognos, Incorporated, Comshare, Incorporated and CompuCom Corporation. He is currently director of Mynd.com and Princeton Capital Management, Inc. and is on the executive committee of the Council on Competitiveness.

John S. Chen
Mr. Chen is the chairman of the board of directors, CEO and president of Sybase, Inc. Prior to joining Sybase, Mr. Chen served as the president of the Open Enterprise computing division of Siemens Nixdorf, a computer and electronics company, and as chief executive officer and chairman of the Siemens Pyramid subsidiary of Siemens Nixdorf. Before its acquisition by Siemens Nixdorf, Mr. Chen served in various executive capacities with Pyramid Technology Corporation, a computer company, where he became chief operating officer and president.
Mr. Chen currently serves as a director on the boards of Wafer Technology (HK), Niku Corporation as well as Committee 100, an Asian non-profit think tank.

Dr. Pehong Chen
Dr. Pehong Chen is the president, CEO, and chairman of the board of BroadVision Incorporated. He is a renowned expert and leader in the field of new media software technologies. Prior to starting BroadVision, he was vice president of Multimedia Technology at Sybase responsible for the companys interactive initiatives.
Previously, Dr. Chen founded and was president of Gain Technology, a leading supplier of multimedia software tools. While at Gain Technology, he pioneered multimedia as an enabling technology for a new generation of business applications engaging end users and consumers in a process of interaction and information exchange. Gain was acquired by Sybase, a leading supplier of database software, in 1992 for over $100 million. Prior to founding Gain, Dr. Chen was a project manager at Olivetti Research Center in charge of multimedia and user interface development.

Michael E. Porter
Professor Porter is the C. Roland Christensen professor of business administration at the Harvard Business School and a world-renowned authority on competition and strategy. He has been on the faculty of the Harvard Business School since 1973, where he teaches strategy, created and leads a workshop for newly appointed CEO's, and speaks on competitive strategy and international competitiveness to business and government audiences worldwide.
Professor Porter has authored over 60 articles and 17 books, including On Competition, Competitive Advantage: Creating and Sustaining Superior Performance, and Competitive Strategy: Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors. He has served as a counselor on competitive strategy to companies including AT&T, Credit Suisse First Boston, DuPont, Procter & Gamble, and Royal Dutch Shell. He has served as a strategy advisor to international governments and state and local organizations, and currently serves on the boards of directors of Parametric Technology Corporation, R&B Falcon Corporation, and Inforte Corporation.

Michael R. Splinter
Mike Splinter is Executive Vice President and Director of the Sales and Marketing Group at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for sales operations worldwide. Prior to this position, Mike was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Technology and Manufacturing Group responsible for all technology and manufacturing operations worldwide.
Splinter joined Intel in 1984 as Manager of Fab 1 in Santa Clara, Calif. He then managed California Technology Development during the start up of Intel's first 1 Mb EPROM. From 1988 to 1996, his efforts and energies were primarily focused on leading the component manufacturing operations through the volume growth of the 90s. Splinter was elected a vice president of the corporation in 1993 and assumed the role of Assistant General Manager of the Technology Manufacturing Group in October 1996. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in January 1999.
Prior to joining Intel, Splinter was a factory manager for Rockwell International. He holds two Rockwell patents: one for the quarter micron transistor process, and the other for microwave annealing of implanted junctions.
Splinter is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, earning both bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1972 and 1974, respectively.

Vivek Ranadivé
Mr. Ranadivé is the founder, CEO and chairman of TIBCO, a leading provider of real-time infrastructure software for the Internet and enterprises. Recently ranked by IDC as the number one provider in the Businessware category, TIBCO's products and services enable computer applications and platforms to communicate efficiently across networks, including the Internet.
Prior to founding TIBCO, Mr. Ranadivé was president and founder of a UNIX consulting company. Previously, he held management and engineering positions with Ford Motor Company, M/A-Com Linkabit and Fortune Systems.
McGraw-Hill recently published Mr. Ranadivés book titled The Power of Now: How Winning Companies Sense and Respond to Change Using Real-Time Technology. His book offers an exciting look at how companies can harness real-time technology to compete in the Internet age. In the words of Sun Microsystems CEO, Scott McNealy, Vivek's book is "about business, about speed, about competition, about technology, and about success in an increasingly global networked society."
