The board brings valuable insight and experience to WebEx as the company expands deployment of its global interactive communications network infrastructure. The technical advisory board also will help WebEx develop new Internet standards for interactive Web-based communications.

Dr. Forest Baskett
Dr. Baskett was a professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University from 1971 to 1982.
He founded and directed the western research laboratory of Digital Equipment Corporation (1982 to 1986), and was a senior vice president of research and development, and chief technology officer at Silicon Graphics Inc. Dr. Baskett is currently a venture partner with NEA.

Dr. Timothy Chou
Dr. Chou is president and chief executive officer of Oracle Corporations Business OnLine, the worlds leading application service provider. Prior to Oracle, Dr. Chou was chief operating officer and chief technical officer at Reasoning, Inc., a venture-backed global IT services firm.

Mr. Brian Fink
Mr. Fink is senior vice president of Technology and Product Development for Global Crossing. Prior to this position, Mr. Fink held positions as vice president of development and director of strategic development with the company's technology division. He also held management positions at AT&T Bell Labs with responsibilities for engineering and developing software solutions for AT&T's long distance, ATM, and cellular network products. Mr. Fink serves on the board for Global Crossing Ventures and SiberCore Technologies.
Mr. Fink has an M.B.A. from Capital University in Ohio, an M.S. in electrical engineering from Ohio State, and a B.S. in computer engineering from Iowa State.

Dr. Arno Penzias
Nobel Laureate, Dr. Penzias, was the former chief scientist at Bell Labs. He has written two books and a number of articles on information technology, focusing on the impact to business and society.
Dr. Penzias has been awarded a number of honorary degrees and awards for his contributions to science, research and development management, and public service -- most notably the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in radio astronomy. Dr. Penzias holds a B.S. from New York City College and a Ph.D. from Columbia University.

Dr. Larry Smarr
Dr. Smarr is the former director of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). He was one of the pioneers in creating a national information infrastructure to support academic research, governmental functions, and industrial competitiveness. Dr. Smarrs views on the Internet, supercomputers, and computational science have been quoted widely in publications including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, Newsweek, Fortune, Business Week, and Science. An internationally recognized astrophysicist, Dr. Smarr has conducted observational, theoretical, and computational based research, resulting in the publication of over seventy scientific papers.

Mr. Srini Srinivasan
Srini is currently consulting with major financial institutions in their launch of global e-commerce initiatives. Previously, Srini was Vice President of Internet Solutions for TIBCO Software where he worked for 9 years since their days of Teknekron Software Systems. At TIBCO his focus was to set the company's Internet strategy and make TIBCO the dominant provider of e-business infrastructure software for Internet marketplaces and financial stock exchanges. He was also responsible for building and operating TIBCO.net -- an outsourced Internet data center for many of the largest consumer Finance portals such as Yahoo!, AOL/Netscape, and Altavista. Before TIBCO he built Gigabit switches for Ultra Networks, and distributed databases for AT&T Bell Labs. Born in India, Srini received a BSEE from REC Trichy, MSCS from University of Texas in Austin, and an MBA from University of California in Berkeley.
